Open Letter to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV: An Invitation to Honor God, Our Father Your Holiness Pope Leo XIV<\/span><\/h4>

We write to you from different countries, cultures, communities, and journeys of faith, united by a simple yet profound conviction: in a world in need of hope, reconciliation, and fraternity, there is immense value in turning our gaze toward God and recognizing His love for humanity. For Christians, this encounter finds a particularly intimate expression in a word that has endured across centuries and generations: Abba. Father.<\/p>

With respect and hope, we ask Your Holiness to consider the possibility of establishing within the Church a celebration especially dedicated to God the Father, a day inviting the faithful to rediscover His love, give thanks for the gift of life, and renew our calling to live as one human family. This is not simply about adding another date to the calendar. It is about creating a space for encounter. A day to return to the Father. A day to remember that we are called to love, serve, forgive, care for one another, and build together.<\/p>

A devotion that already brings communities together<\/strong><\/p>

Across centuries and continents, countless communities have expressed their longing for God through prayer, pilgrimage, encounter, and devotion. One expression that particularly inspires this petition can be found in Trindade, Goi\u00e1s, Brazil, where generations of pilgrims have gathered for the traditional Pilgrimage of the Divine Eternal Father.<\/p>

Each year, men, women, young people, families, and entire communities make the journey to come together, pray, and celebrate their faith. In this way, Trindade has become a powerful witness to a devotion that transcends generations and borders. In 2026, the pilgrimage carried a message especially close to the spirit of this movement: \u201cClamamos: Abb\u00e1, Pai!\u201d \u2014 \u201cWe cry out: Abba, Father!\u201d<\/p>

That cry expresses something deeply human: the desire to draw closer to God and to recognize in Him a source of love, mercy, and hope. Trindade shows us what can happen when a community gathers around the Father. We hope that this spirit can reach much further.<\/p>

Many nations. Many traditions. One desire to honor the Father.<\/strong><\/p>

This initiative is rooted in a profound Christian tradition, yet its call to fraternity has resonated with people from many different backgrounds. Christians from different denominations can come together in their recognition of God and in the desire to live as brothers and sisters.<\/p>

At the same time, Jewish and Muslim people, as well as members of other faith traditions who share a deep reverence for God, can accompany this initiative in a spirit of friendship, respect, and a shared desire to build peace. We do not seek to erase our differences or make our beliefs uniform. We seek to encounter one another through them.<\/p>

We believe that faith can help us not only to look toward heaven, but also to look at one another with greater compassion, dignity, and respect. At a time so often marked by division, loneliness, conflict, and mistrust, we need symbols that remind us of what can bring us closer together.<\/p>

A celebration with purpose<\/strong><\/p>

We envision a celebration dedicated to God the Father that could become, each year, an invitation to prayer, encounter, service, and hope. A celebration that encourages families to come together. That inspires communities to serve those most in need. That reminds us of our responsibility to care for creation. That promotes reconciliation. That invites us to reach out to those who are lonely, forgotten, or suffering. A celebration that allows each person to ask: What does it mean to live as a son or daughter of a Father who loves us? And also: How should that love transform the way we relate to one another?<\/p>

In this way, honoring the Father would not be only an act of devotion, but also an invitation to translate our faith into concrete acts of love.<\/p>

One Family of the Father<\/strong><\/p>

Holy Father, we believe there is an extraordinary opportunity to share this message with a new generation. People from different countries are already beginning to gather around a simple idea: One Father. One Family. One Journey.<\/p>

A celebration dedicated to the Father could help millions of people rediscover an essential dimension of their relationship with God while also reminding us that our relationship with Him transforms the way we relate to one another.

For this reason, with humility and hope, we ask you to consider this petition and the possibility of establishing a celebration especially dedicated to God the Father: Abba, Our Father.<\/p>

May it become a day to give thanks. A day to return. A day to reconcile. A day to serve. A day to remember that no one should have to walk alone. A day to renew our hope that, even though we are different and come from different places, we can build a more fraternal humanity together.<\/p>
